Healthy Relationships/Healthy Boundaries

In the Healthy Relationships class, information and research will be presented on the various aspects of a healthy relationship with oneself and others, as well as exploring how the client can apply this to their own lives. Topics include how relationships are formed, how trust, respect, and honesty are established, what gives meaning to a relationship, how to value each other and understand boundaries, and ways to improve our listening and communication skills. Unhealthy and abusive relationships will also be discussed.

Education on how mental health and addiction are often interrelated and provides basic knowledge on a variety of mental health disorders.

Codependency

This class delves into the intricate dynamics of codependency and provides participants with tools to identify and address codependent patterns in their relationships. Explore strategies for establishing healthy boundaries, nurturing self-esteem, and fostering independence.

Shame Resilience

During this class, the work of sociologist Brené Brown will be used to explore the four basic components of shame resilience: recognizing shame and understanding its triggers, practicing critical awareness of the influences leading to shame, reaching out to others, and naming shame when it occurs. Clients will learn how to move towards empathy with courage, connection, and compassion, and away from fear, blame, and disconnection.

Grief is a complex and universal experience. This class offers a supportive environment to understand and navigate the process of grief and loss. Learn how to cope with the emotional and psychological aspects of loss, and develop strategies for healing and moving forward.

Trauma Education

The Trauma class will look at the impact of trauma on women’s lives to include an understanding of what trauma is, our response to trauma in the brain and body, and how to begin healing from traumatic events. Class will cover the wide range of various forms of trauma that can overwhelm a person’s coping skills and result in feelings of intense fear, helplessness, shame, anger, and abandonment.
